DANCE NEWS BC

Welcome to Dance News BC!   I'm Lauren Tang, editor and webmaster of DanceNews BC, and thank you for visiting our website.  I'm an avid dancer myself, and have been dancing for over 15+ years in various forms of dance. I love classical ballet, and have been trained in Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and tap, among others.

 

My training began at McBride's School of Dancing and Debbie Lee Dance, and continues at Deas Island Dance with Miss Janet Gittens. I have also participated in  multiple dance conventions/competitions such as JUMP Dance and summer intensives (Royal Ballet School and Harbour Dance Centre).

 

Also, I recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with my B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Family Studies. I am currently studying at the Quantic School of Business and Technology for my Masters in Business Administration. Recently, I completed my 200Hr Yoga Teacher Certification and will be working on my R.A.D. Teacher Certification in 2025.

 

My goal with designing and creating this website is to help the Fine Arts & BC Dance Community continue to grow and thrive.   The idea for this website started when I found it was difficult to find information about dance events around BC in one location, so I decided to create a website to make it easier to find all dance related information

all in one place, and then share it with you.

 

This is a site that is purely dedicated to news about dance news and events around the local British Columbia region.  In the future, I hope to expand the site to include events in all regions and provinces throughout Canada, however for now, this site is targeted to local regions within BC.

 

My ultimate goal is to help promote dance events to inspire others to love dance as much as I do, and foster a healthy fine arts community throughout Canada.
