Inspired to Dance in London!

Updated: Aug 25, 2023

Today I decided to share with you some of the dance related things I found while I was in London, England recently. These range from going to dance stores such as Capezio, Freed of London, and Bloch. Along with seeing the Royal Ballet's "Sleeping Beauty" at the Royal Opera House (you can read my review in a previous post) and seeing "White Christmas" play at the Dominion Theatre. During my time in London I was also able to find dance inspiration by taking a ballet class at the famous Pineapple Dance Studios, as well as some costumes from Fred Astaire and Bessie Love at the Victoria & Albert Museum from their films "Broadway Melody of 1940" and "The Broadway Melody". I was also able to find inspiration by discovering a ballet photography book at Foyles' bookstore, as well as some famous dance related artwork at the Tate Modern including Edgar Degas' "Little Dancer" sculpture.

Overall, I had a great time in London and I can't want to share with you all about some of my favourite findings through pictures I took down below. I was so excited to see so many dance related events and stores in London and I will definitely be back soon! Some other dance related things I didn't get a chance to see while I was there include the Royal Academy of Dance, Royal Academy of Arts, English National Ballet, Royal Birmingham Ballet, dance class at Danceworks London, and more! As you can see, there is dance inspiration everywhere and I hope this inspires you to find it wherever you go. Enjoy! Also, keep an eye out for my upcoming reviews on "White Christmas" and the dance class I took at Pineapple Dance Studios, along with an upcoming review of the Alberta Ballet's "The Nutcracker" coming soon! Let me know in the comments down below what you'd like to see me cover next. Until next time, happy dancing! :)
