Traditional Apple Pie!

By: Lauren Tang

Today I decided to make this delicious Traditional Apple Pie! Recently, I went apple picking with my friends and they were very enthusiastic about me making them apple pie haha, so here it is! I haven't made pie in awhile, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was quite easy to make with this recipe. There weren't many modifications that I had to make, but a few differences such as using the Jonagold apples we picked and using a pie crust protector half way through baking, so that the crust didn't burn. I also sprinkled sugar on top of the pie after brushing on the egg wash for a bit of sweetness and glimmer. Since the apples I used were quite large I only needed to use four of them, so I based it on weight, which was about 2lbs or 900 grams. One modification I would make would be to use a little bit more flour for the apple pie filling, as I found it a bit runny once I added in the apples. Overall, the recipe turned out really well and I hope you enjoyed this review! Happy baking :)

Pumpkin Tarts!

By: Lauren Tang

Happy Thanksgiving! To celebrate I made my traditional pumpkin tarts recipe :) Now, the recipe I have attached is for a pie, but I find you can use the same recipe with different proportions. As the recipe made 27 tarts in total, as you don't want to overfill the tart shells. The main difference is the baking time, so I only needed to do about 6min at 425F and 8min at 350F. I tend to use freshly grated ginger in addition to the other spices, as I find it adds a nice flavour to the overall recipe. I always let them cool about 10-15min after baking to ensure they're cool enough due to the tart shell tins. Overall, this recipe turned out well and I hope you enjoy making them too!

Apple Streusel Muffins!

By: Lauren Tang

Today I decided to make these delicious Apple Streusel Muffins! As you can tell, I still have quite a few apples from my apple picking adventures, so I decided to venture into an Apple Streusel Muffins recipe haha. This recipe turned out really well and there were few modifications that I needed to make. Since the apples I had were quite large I only ended up needing one in total. You could also add in other ingredients such as walnuts, pecans, or a vanilla drizzle on top. There was also too much streusel topping, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as I'd prefer too much than too little. This recipe ended up making 14 regular-sized muffins and I did use muffin tins. The muffins took 26 min to bake in total at 375F. Hope you enjoyed this recipe and happy baking :)
