Meet strawberry shortcake 2.0! It's new and it's improved but there's still room to move! This strawberry shortcake is generously layered with tons of whipped cream and strawberries that blend perfectly together when matched with the cake layers. Rather than a long rectangle cake it is in fact a circle cake making the designs with the strawberries completely up to you! For the strawberry filling I used a different recipe which I will attach to this blog update as well as the shortcake recipe! This recipe turned out fabulously as I made this cake for my dad's birthday and he loved it. However, I'm still looking for the perfect strawberry shortcake and hopefully in time, there will be plenty of more improvements along the way. This recipe requires a fair amount of time and attention as it takes 2 hrs and 5 min to make both the strawberry filing and the shortcake, but it's definitely worth it!
