One of the old classic recipes that everyone loves is good old fashioned apple pie. Now, for this recipe it was perfect, as the instructions laid out were exact, and I'll also add some tips for those of you baking apple pies yourself :) Number One: If you want to make sure the bottom of the crust bakes through, you can check by using a glass pie pan, so that you can check that it's ready. Number Two: To make sure the top and the bottom of the pie are evenly baked, bake the pie on the lowest shelf of the oven, so that the bottom of the pie is as good, as the fluffy and flaky crust. Also, make sure to keep a glass of water near you when rolling out the dough in case the dough seems dry. Another tip is to make sure that you roll out the dough evenly in a circle shape to make it easier to work with. Also, despite it recommending using 1kg of apples, which ended up being equivalent to 7 apples (I ended up using 5 and found that it was plenty, and unless you want the pie to be fully stocked with apples, then you won't need the full amount of apples recommended in the recipe). Additionally, if you want to make sure that the pan doesn't overflow then put a baking sheet underneath it, to prevent spillage. Overall, this recipe turned out amazing, despite this being only the 2nd time I've ever made an apple pie, so try something new today, and expand your horizons, happy baking!
