At last, here is my full review of the Croissant and Breakfast Pastry Class with La Cuisine Paris in Paris! During my trip to Paris, I was fortunate enough to take this class with my parents taught by Chef Guillaume, and I'm so happy that I did. The way that I found out about this cooking school was by searching online simply, "baking class paris", and voila La Cuisine Paris showed up with amazing views on Yelp and other sources. After looking at a few others in comparison, I decided upon the first result, as they had the highest reviews, and best array of classes, and were also taught in English. Also, through Google Maps, I learned that you can look inside of the store, which was very complete and perfect for baking croissants.
Fast forward to the trip, where on the second week of my trip, we arrived finally to the day of making Croissants in Paris! Once I arrived, I learned that the class was completely full, but was very manageable and still a small class size of about 8 people in total. We all started off by telling a little about ourselves and our background with baking, and after washing our hands, class began. We were all given multiple tips and tricks on the process of making croissants, and boy were there a ton of them! I couldn't believe how complicated they were, based solely on how many steps there were, but Chef Guillaume, made it so much easier, and made us all feel like a pastry chef for a day! Another nice touch was that some of the steps requires refrigerating for a day, so we never had to worry about waiting too long. Also, in a three hour period, you won't have to spend as much time doing this. Also, if you were wondering the class provides you with a plastic apron, but I do recommend that if you have longish hair to bring a hair elastic with you. Also, make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you will be standing for long periods of time. Not only did we make croissants but also Pain au Chocolat, Apricot Jam Pastries, and Chocolate & Sugar Crystal Pinwheels.
Overall, this class was a lot of fun, and I definitely recommend taking it if you are ever in Paris, as it is definitely a must-do! Also, another nice touch was that after you finish making the pastries, you get a chance to sit down and have either tea or coffee, with your newly baked pastries! Also, you get to share them and take some home with you :) At the end of the class, everyone is then given a map with recommendations of pastry shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. I hope that you all enjoyed my review, and sorry for taking so long, but unfortunately, my initial post was accidentally deleted in the process of posting it a few weeks ago.
