Here is the story of how I had decided on making Blue Velvet White Chocolate Chip Cookies in honour of Percy Jackson's birthday from the Percy Jackson book series, as I'm a fan of the books, and I thought hey why not? How hard could it be, right? Boy was I wrong. Initially I typed into Google, blue chocolate chip cookies, and then this recipe came up, and the picture of the cookies looked perfect, as they always do. Now generally I have no problems when it comes to making cookies look like the photo, however, in this case, despite using the exact same formula, my cookies turned out to be a dark blue-grey. After trying about 4 different methods to recover from this, the result was either a dark purple, maroon, dark grey, or speckled. However, on the positive side the taste of the cookies turned out really well, and the appearance, despite being grey looked just like the picture. As for the methods I used, I tried using gel food colouring initially, and then afterwards I used liquid food colouring. Overall, it wasn't an end all be all, but if anyone figures out how to make them blue, please let me know. As I am now on a quest to make the perfect Blue Chocolate Chip Cookies!
