Marvellous Madeleines!

Today I decided to bake these super unique and delicious Madeleines! I've always wanted to make them after I saw a baking demonstration of them at Williams Sonoma a few years ago, and after it my friend bought me these Madeleine trays, but I was always worried it would be too difficult, so I never tried making them. But today, I wanted a challenge or something different, so I decided to give it a go, and turns out it was way easier to make them expected. The recipe turned out really well, however, one of my only modifications would be the baking time, as you can see in the picture below they are baked a little too long, as per the suggested time by the recipe. So for future attempts I would recommend 8-9min probably for accuracy 8.5min rather than the suggested 10min. This could also be a variance based on the fact that my family decided to get a new oven since our other one was getting pretty old, so I'm just getting used to it now haha. Generally, you'll want a lighter colour for madeleines but the overall texture turned out really well. The places you can get the madeleine trays are at places like winners, marshalls, Michaels, and maybe Walmart. As for pan preparation I would just recommend buttering the pan with either butter or margarine to make it easier to remove from the pan. Also, to fill the madeleine tray with the batter evenly and up to the rim. You might need to use your fingers or spatula to do this, so be prepared to get messy. Also, I found out that Madeleines are a French cookie that has a cake like texture. Overall, this recipe turned out really well and I can't wait to try out other variations of this recipe such as chocolate, almond, and rosewater. Also, in the future, I guess you could call it the moral of the story, to try things out first even if others say things may be difficult, and throw caution to the wind. Although, I guess its a fairly safe environment to say so when it comes to baking haha. Happy Baking :)
