This is a great alternative dessert to make for those who don't like pumpkin (although I don't think there are that many people who don't) or who are simply tired of pumpkin pie and would like a change. This dessert ended up being a huge hit at our Thanksgiving dinner this year and was even more popular than the pumpkin pie. As for alterations to this recipe the only thing I really altered was by using a pre-made pie shell simply for time constraints and I would recommend buying a bigger pie shell than the one I bought.
