Who loves butter tarts? Well, if so then you're going to love this variation, especially when you're limited in time and need to make a ton of them in a pinch! I found this recipe turned out fairly well and accurate to recipe although there were a few alterations that I had to make. For instance, for the crust I needed to add approximately 1-2tbsps of butter to achieve the right consistency. Also, after making the crust mixture into a crumb like texture with the pastry cutter then use your hands to thoroughly mix the crust together evenly. From there, transfer the mixture to your pan and press it down firmly evenly distributed throughout the pan. As for baking the squares it took approximately 25-26min to bake the squares after pre-baking the crust, as I found it too liquid-y at 20min. After letting the squares cool I recommend using a dough cutter/scraper to cut the butter tarts into squares. It made approximately 20-25 squares depending on the size of the squares. Overall, this recipe turned out really well, however, I would say that this recipe is rather on the sweet side, which is generally the nature of butter tarts. So if you prefer sugary desserts this is the one for you. Also, I did add in the raisins, as I think it added something extra special to the squares. Check it out and I hope you have fun baking! :)
