Pecan Brownies with Banana Slices on top!

Lauren Tang

Today I decided to make these delicious Pecan Brownies with Banana Slices on top. Now typically the recipe only asks for a simple brownie recipe but I couldn't resist adding extra toppings and add-ins as usual and added about 1/2 cup of crushed pecans. You can either use a blender like the Magic Bullet, use a knife, crumble them with your hands if the pecans are soft enough, or buy them pre-chopped. As for the banana slices I actually decided on this last minute because I thought aesthetically it might add something but you can totally skip this add-in if you prefer. My mom said that the banana slices made them softer, so if you prefer the nice glaze or the fudgy texture to a brownie, then feel free to skip it. However, if you did decide to use it I ended up using one medium banana and evenly dispersed them into 4 rows by 4 columns in a square pan. As for modifications, the only thing I would say is that it took a bit longer than I thought it would to bake but this could also be due to the fact that they need 30min to set. It was honestly so hard to tell whether or not they're finished baking due to all of the chocolate chips in the recipe. Overall, this recipe turned out really well and sorry for the big delay in writing this post. I don't know about you but for me I've found 2019 to be super busy and tiring so far (mainly due to midterm and essay season), especially with all of the snow lately. I just wish it was summer already (as I type this, it's snowing currently outside my window sigh). Anyways, happy baking and let me know what you think :)
