Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats!

Lauren Tang

Hey everyone, today I decided to do a review of something new that I made, Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats! This idea was recommended to me by one of my followers on my instagram (@bakingwithlauren), so thank you for the suggestion and also if you have any suggestions for baking ideas you'd like to see me do next, feel free to let me know on Instagram, Facebook, or in the comments down below. This recipe turned out really well and is super easy to make and are also vegan. All it requires is a food processor, quick oats, peanut butter, and a banana. I used organic quick oats and organic peanut butter since those were what I had on hand from my cupboards (only the best for my dog, Coco haha). As for the banana, it recommended a ripe banana but since I didn't have any super ripe ones, I used a typical yellow banana. However, I do think that you should use a ripe one if possible, as I ended up having to use a lot of water to make the dough form because of this. As for making them into shapes, I had a dog bone cookie cutter I had bought previously years ago and I used a small star to make smaller treats, as my dog is fairly small (she's only 7.5lbs) so it's good to portion the treats to the size of your dog :). You can find a variety of cookie cutter shapes at stores such as Michaels, Winners/Marshalls, or any baking/cooking supplies store. The dog treats took about 15min in the oven as they were smaller than the ones in the picture and I didn't want them to be too hard for my dog to eat. I think she liked them but it's hard to tell with dogs, especially Coco, since the only way I would know if something was off is if she didn't eat it at all. As she's not too picky but she gobbled it up really fast, so I'll take that as a good sign ahah. Overall, this recipe turned out really well and I think I may make another recipe for dog treats that I saw for pumpkin treats. I hope you all enjoyed this review and have fun baking :)
