Ginger Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Lauren Tang

Today I decided to make a dessert based on a dream I had where I made these ginger chocolate chip cookies. A combination I’ve never thought of before but in my dream it seemed to work really well, so as soon as I woke up I looked it up and bam found a recipe that worked! As soon as I found the recipe, I went to work and I was so happy to find that this was the perfect combination of both a ginger and a chocolate chip cookie. Now I know the combination may sound strange but if you think about it, it kind of makes sense, since there are ginger cookies (gingerbread) and there are chocolate chip cookies but rarely ever combined. This recipe ended up being the perfect balance of both and my dad even said he liked these better than classic ginger cookies alone, since the chocolate chips added a special touch! As for modifications, I used fancy molasses, as the recipe doesn’t indicate what specific type but since I used this type for classic ginger cookies I hoped it work out the same. Also, instead of light brown sugar I used best brown sugar, as I didn’t have light brown sugar at home and this seemed to turn out well. I also grated my own ginger using a spice grater, as I found it turns out really well when I did this for the classic ginger cookies recipe I used previously. It took about 14min in the oven at 350F and made 27 medium sized cookies. I also, put 4-5 chocolate chips on top of each cookie dough ball before baking for aesthetics and it seemed to be proportionate once it was out of the oven. Overall, this recipe turned out really well and I hope that you enjoyed this review :)
