Baci Di Dama Cookies!

Writer's picture: Lauren TangLauren Tang

Today I decided to make these delicious Baci Di Dama Cookies! After seeing them on Instagram I knew I needed to try them out because they looked adorable! One of the best things about this recipe is the fact that it has very few ingredients: hazelnuts, flour, sugar, and butter, plus melted semi-sweet chocolate for the center.

However, hazelnuts can be fairly expensive, especially when buying in bulk. The solution? Buy them from Costco if you can, they are a fraction of the price and you'll be able to make them multiple times. Score! Another option is to use ground almonds or almond flour instead. I haven't actually tried this yet, but I heard that this does work as an alternative, which makes sense in theory. Let me know down below if you end up trying it and how it turned out, I'm curious :)

In terms of modifications, there weren't many except I did need to bake them for 18 minutes rather than 15 minutes and I melted slightly more chocolate chips for the center filling. At first I thought that the cookies would be too small, but it was actually the perfect bite size, which made me really excited haha. Overall, this recipe made 45 mini cookies, which made 22 sandwich cookies, plus one half leftover for taste testing! I hope you enjoyed this review and see you next week :)
