Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies!

December 12th, 2023

Today I decided to make these delicious Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies! Perfect with a cold glass of milk or cup of tea. Making these cookies was a lot of fun and it didn't take too long to make. Although, they do require 1hr of chilling time before baking, so keep that in mind if you're on a time crunch. The chocolate ganache was a nice addition, however, you could also substitute for caramel, jam, or peanut butter centers. This recipe ended up making 19 cookies and took 12min to bake at 350F and then an additional 2min after indenting them with a tablespoon to fill out the center. Overall, this recipe turned out really well and I hope you enjoyed this review. Happy Christmas baking time :)

Strawberry Jam Thumbprint Cookies!

December 19th, 2023

Today I decided to make these delicious Strawberry Jam Thumbprint Cookies. These were fun to make and didn't require many modifications. I like how you can substitute your favourite filling such as blueberry, caramel, peach, or apricot. The only part I would recommend considering is that the dough will have to chill for abotu 30min before baking, so if you're short on time, keep this in mind. Once you take them out of the freezer, they're a bit too solid to indent for the jam. So, you can either pre-do this before baking them or wait a few minutes until they thaw enough to fill. Also, you could bake them for 5-8min first and then take them out to indent with jam before baking them all the way through. Overall, this recipe turned out really well and is a Christmas classic. Happy holidays!

Gingerbread Streusel Muffins with a Vanilla Glaze!

December 26th, 2023

Today I decided to make these delicious Gingerbread Streusel Muffins with a Vanilla Glaze. There weren't many modifications that I needed to make, but I would say that you could add chocolate as an additional flavour. I did also make homemade buttermilk by combining milk and 3/4tsp of lemon juice. I also grated fresh ginger to add to the batter. The recipe made 12 muffins and took approximately 5min at 425F and 15min at 350F to bake. I let them cool for about 10 min to make sure that the drizzled vanilla glaze didn't melt too much on top of the muffins. Overall, I had a great time baking these cookies and I hope you have fun baking :)
