Creme Brûlée Cookies!

Writer's picture: Lauren TangLauren Tang

Today I decided to make these super cool Creme Brûlée Cookies! Not only were they a lot of fun to make, but the appearance of the glossy finish made it ten times better! In terms of modifications, there weren't many changes that I had to make, however, I did use vanilla extract instead of vanilla bean since I didn't have any on hand. Also, I used whipped cream rather than whipping cream for the frosting, but this essentially works the same way. In total, this recipe made 20 regular sized cookies and took approximately 12 minutes to bake in the oven at 375F. As for blow torching the cookies, this took a bit of time, mainly because I ran out of fuel, but it did create a very nice finish, so it was sort of worth it in the end. Emphasis on sort of. Anyways, this recipe turned out fairly well and hopefully I can figure out a way to speed up the creme brûlée process in the future. Happy baking :)

Edit: Okay, I fixed the blow torch with help from my dad and it was so much better! So, scratch that previous comment, this was a lot of fun to make once you get the blow torch working. Okay, see you next week :)
