Dracula's Dentures (Cookies)!

Today I decided to make these super cute and delicious Halloween dessert, Dracula's Dentures (don't worry they're not real dentures, but delicious chocolate chip cookies!). Anyways, I got the idea after doing some digging online and while I didn't find a complete recipe from start to finish, I was able to combine the ideas I saw to make the dream come true!

The first recipe I used was to start with the base of the creation: the chocolate chip cookie. I've never actually used this recipe before, but I was pleasantly surprised and not only was it easy to make, it was also delicious to boot! The recipe made 27 medium/large cookies in total, which you will eventually cut in half to create Dracula's dentures. The cookies took approximately 17 minutes to bake in the oven.

From there, I made the vanilla frosting and dyed it red with liquid red food colouring. A bit of a warning, it did take quite a bit of food colouring to get a dark enough red (approximately 2.5 mini bottles of food colouring). Alternatively, you could use gel food colouring, which will require less food colouring, but can take some time to add together. Also, you'll only need about half of the frosting recipe, but this also depends on if you plan on using all the cookies to make into Dracula's dentures.

From there, spread each side of the cookie with the red frosting and place mini marshmallows along the perimeter on one half of the cookie. Once you place the other half of the cookie on top, then place two almond slivers in between two of the teeth to form Dracula's fangs. Voila! There you have it! Your very own delicious Dracula's Dentures, just in time to celebrate for Halloween! Enjoy and happy baking :)
