Today I decided to make these delicious Plum Torte, as we had a ton of plums that we recently bought, and I thought I'd try out a new spin on a plum dessert. To make this recipe, it was fairly quick and easy to make, with most of the time being spent on baking it in the oven. In terms of modifications, I used margarine to grease the 9" cake pan and then measured out parchment paper to add to the sides, so that it would make it easier to take out of the pan after the cake cooled. I also used 3/4 cup of sugar rather than 1 cup, as the plums I had on hand were quite sweet, as well as 1 tsp of lemon juice instead of 2 tsps, so that it wouldn't be as sour. I also ended up using 10 plums rather than 12, as I found it looked more evenly proportionate in the pan this way. I also mixed the lemon juice and 1 tbsp of sugar together and sprinkled it over the cake mixture, and then sprinkled cinnamon on top. The torte took 50 min to bake at 350F and came out with a beautiful golden brown on top. Overall, I hope you enjoyed this recipe and have fun baking :)
