Today I decided to try out something new and make these cute Vanilla Glazed Mini Baked Donuts! Since I recently bought a mini donut pan it seemed like the perfect occasion. Also, my cousin is a huge fan of donuts and has been vying for me to make donuts for years, alas, her wish is finally being granted haha.
One of the best things about making these was the fact that they only took 8 minutes to bake in the oven and were super easy to make with common household ingredients! You can also make them your own by changing the colour using food colouring. I used blue food colouring for a winter themed donut, but you could also do a chocolate dipped donut by melting some chocolate or making a chocolate ganache. Also, if you add some sprinkles on top it can take your donut to the next level!
In terms of spelling, the official terminology is--doughnut-- but the spelling of-donut- became popular after Dunkin' Donuts opened up shop and has now expanded to being used for the beloved treat worldwide. These donuts were not only soft and fluffy, but also super fun to make and makes 12 mini donuts in total.
A few modifications I made was using 2% milk instead of skim milk, as well as double dipping the glaze on to each donut for a richer glaze appearance, as it appears a bit watery without it. Another alternative would be to use 1/2 tbsp of milk instead of 1 tbsp added to the glaze to make it a thicker glaze. Overall, these were a lot of fun to make and I would definitely make them again and you'll be seeing more donut recipes covered soon! Happy baking :)
